2.    To provide cultural and spiritual opportunities to the greater area community as well as the Pleasant Ridge community in the form of:
  • study groups
  • musical and dramatic events
  • lectures
  • bazaars and art fairs
  • dinners
  • workshops
  • summer programs
  • festivals

Quality of Life Values:

We want for our children, for ourselves and for the various communities of which we are a part:

1. A full Waldorf education, in which compassionate and understanding adults tend to the dignity and well-being of the children, helping them to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, morally and spiritually;

2. A safe and beautiful campus/environment, overseen by all adults in the community in a spirit of mindfulness and care;

3. Harmony and diversity in a community that is:

  •  Sustainable;
  •  Financially responsible, balancing the needs of the school with the needs of the families committed to it;
  •  Morally responsible;
  •  In service to ideals of social justice and renewal;
  •  Egalitarian and open; and
  •  Coordinated through holistic management.

In summary, we want Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School -- centered by Waldorf education and anthroposophy -- to be strong and vital and self-renewing: living lightly on the earth, holding each other and nature/the spiritual world in reverence and depth of understanding . . . imagining, modeling and communicating a vision of a healthy community among and within healthy communities.
